Classical Style Kitchen

Classical Style Kitchen

Our Bespoke Build & Installation

Our clients love their house in Hertford Heath which they have lived in for 5 years.  Unfortunately, the kitchen did not live up to the rest of the property as a large pillar supporting the roof blocked the view to the rest of the garden and made the layout of the kitchen problematic. To enable the client to have the kitchen they wanted we first undertook the necessary structural work which allowed for a round steel column to replace the former much larger pillar, this column was then incorporated in the island.

Our clients are both graphic designers so detail was important to them, as was respecting the style of the house, which has a classical design, so in terms of furniture, a simple painted shaker kitchen was decided upon with elegant lines and interesting handles.

The stunning island painted in ‘Vert Studio’ is the centre piece of the kitchen and is the hub of family life in this gorgeous open plan space. It really is the perfect place for entertaining family and friends. The island incorporates a Bora venting hob, a Miele wine cabinet and a Kaelo bottle cooler.

As the island is very large, over 3 metres long, and our client was not keen to have joints in their worktop.  Finding the right material was tricky but eventually Hanex Clara was chosen as the joints are invisible leaving a seamless beautiful finish.

Away from the Island the rest of the furniture is painted in ‘Dove Grey’ to provide a contrast and keep the room feeling light and spacious. Curves were used not only to provide interest and flow to the island but soften a potentially awkward return wall.

Plenty of storage was high on the wish list and the larder storage that surrounds the Fisher & Paykel American Style fridge provides ample. Throughout the kitchen the beautiful shaker furniture is complemented with the stylish milled solid satin brass Henley knurled handles which add a luxurious feel.

As well as the kitchen our client also asked us to design the adjacent utility room as often the door between the two rooms is left open.  This room was simpler to design but now looks as good as the kitchen with the same Dove Grey cabinetry and matching worktops.
