Modern Kitchen Bespoke Build & Installation
Our clients in Nazeing, Essex were looking to convert their existing separate kitchen and dining room into one open-plan kitchen and family space with a link to the garden and approached us to undertake all aspects of their project.
To create their dream space, we first had to enlarge the opening between the current kitchen and dining room which involved removing an existing supporting wall. New supporting steelwork was installed by our builders to allow for the wall to be safely removed and the space to be opened up thus creating many more design possibilities.
In terms of design, our clients requested a large kitchen island, with plenty of seating for them and their two ‘grown-up’ sons. Storage was also high on their list of priorities. In terms of furniture, they wanted something traditional but with a modern edge.
Our clients were keen on handle-less kitchen furniture therefore Stoneham’s ‘Flow Silk’ range was selected in ‘Hague Blue’ for the main kitchen area with ‘Cashmere’ shaker style furniture from Stoneham’s ‘Edwardian’ range used for the tall storage and dresser area providing the traditional touch they were looking for.
The island features a ‘Snowy Ibiza’ quartz worktop with a bespoke ‘Safari Brasilica’ timber overhang to the seating area to add texture and interest.
The tall storage area features Neff ovens with a warming drawer below, a large larder storage cupboard and a contemporary dresser unit on either side.
Adjacent to the dining table at the far end of the room. The clients wanted a more formal dresser that they could use for entertaining purposes. A Caple wine cooler sits central in this run of furniture to keep chilled bottles in easy reach of the table for dinner parties etc. and the glass units above give the opportunity to display their favourite glassware.
The finished result is a light and spacious bespoke kitchen and dining area that the whole family can enjoy.
