Family Bathroom with Natural tones
Living within touching distance of their local woodland, our client was keen to mirror the tranquillity that this natural space provides them with. Therefore a porcelain tile that mimicked the physical, as well as visual texture of cut timber, was selected for this reason and provides the perfect backdrop to the olive green of the Villeroy & Boch ‘Finion’ vanity unit.
This main family bathroom is a generous size and has space for both a bath and separate shower, perfect for all the families’ needs. Above the bath is useful Hansgrohe ‘Puravida’ hand shower, ideal for both washing your hair in the bath and for cleaning the bath after use.
The ‘sit on’ basin, in front of shot, is from the ‘Collaro’ range by Villeroy and Boch and looks stylish and elegant against the matt white glass worktop below. Although our client’s existing bathroom was generous in size, the position of the two windows, door and external soil pipe meant a rethink of the existing bathroom layout, if it were to allow us to get a shower in separately to the bath. Therefore we had to create a bespoke showering area to suit their space, with a newly constructed stud wall forming a divide between bath and walk in shower. The benefit of using a stud wall is that it also provided space to run supply pipe work in unseen and we could also create a useful recess to store bottles on the showering side.
Additional touches, such as mirroring the wood-tile on the inside of the shower wall, help to link the various elements of the room together. The wall hung WC selected here is from Villeory & Boch’ Subway 3.0 range with tiled boxing behind to conceal cistern and pipework. A thermostatically controlled douche adjacent to WC is a space-saving and cost-effect alternative to a bidet.
