Edwardian Inspired Kitchen

Mr and Mrs D

Davies Kitchen Renovation

Our Bespoke Build & Installation

Mr and Mrs D were renovating a large house in Hertfordshire and were looking to replace the tired kitchen that was put in when the house was built 15 years before. In addition to the kitchen the design brief included a TV/media cabinet, as well as a stunning granite dining table.

Our clients enjoyed classic furniture but wanted to keep the design simple and liked the idea of Edwardian kitchen furniture as it offered pared down simplicity.  Most of the kitchen is painted Classic White but the tall furniture and occasional furniture is Vert Studio to provide a contrast and add a bit of drama.  The scheme was pulled together with Ariel Silestone worktops in the kitchen and Sensa Indian black on the dresser, table and TV cabinet.

At the far end of the kitchen is a faux mantle surround with an antique glass splashback to bounce around light and reflect the lovely gardens.  Practical as well as beautiful it also houses a hob on the worktop below and an extractor to keep the kitchen free from cooking aromas.  There are plenty of places to perch, seats on the island, a handy window seat and of course the granite table at the other end.

An abundance of storage was a key requirement on this project as the client wanted to keep their worktops clutter free, so plenty of tall storage was incorporated into the design which included large larder units and worktop dressers. The built into this furniture is Siemens StudioLine appliances in a black finish which tie in perfectly with the polished black nickel knurled handles.

An extra-large Siemens larder fridge was also included to provide plentiful food and drink storage for their frequent entertaining.

For dining, our client was looking for a table that they could ‘get a crowd around’ as they love to entertain and so it was important that this pivotal part of the room had the ‘wow’ factor.

The square granite clad table seats 8-10 and was custom designed and made for the space

The dining area is complete with a stylish smoked glass dresser unit to the rear wall that was made bespoke so that the units ran flush to the ceiling, creating extra height and grandeur, the perfect place to display treasures.
