Family Shaker Style Kitchen Diner
Our clients were looking for a stylish new family kitchen diner for their home in Hadley Wood.
Improving light in the room was a big must for the client as they felt that their old kitchen was very dark. To achieve this, we added new LED spotlights to the ceiling and replaced the existing leaking roof light with a new roof lantern which increased the light flow into the room and improved energy efficiency.
A shaker style of furniture was chosen to suit the period of the house with a mixture ‘Studio Vert’ and ‘Cashmere’ colours from Stoneham’s ‘Edwardian’ range used. These were paired with the ever popular ‘Snowy Ibiza’ quartz worktop.
Miele appliances were selected , along with a Quooker hot water tap and a BORA cooktop extractor situated on the island. The casual island seating if perfectly for chatting to guests whilst dinner is cooking or for a coffee with friends. To improve the layout of the kitchen our designer suggested altering the position of the sink to the opposite side of the kitchen which would open up the possibility for tall cabinets to be run along the rear wall to house appliances and provide useful cupboard storage.
This worked perfectly as the clients wanted two fridge freezers to provide plenty of storage for their family’s needs and these sit either side of the Miele ovens with larder storage at each end. The client was keen to have a connection between the kitchen and dining area which had previously felt like two separate rooms.
This was achieved by the addition of this beautiful dresser to the dining room made in the same furniture as the kitchen which ties the two areas together. With the new roof lantern bringing in light from above creates a gorgeous dining space for our client to enjoy.
