Emergency replacement of conservatory roof panel - broken by bone dropped by red kite (we think) - on a wet and stormy Monday. Steve from Dobsons reacted quickly - temporary panel installed same day - replacement panel ordered, made, delivered and fitted in 11 days. Perfect! Well done Dobsons.

In Autumn 2023, I had a new door purchased from and fitted by Dobsons. It wasn’t a cheap door. I wanted the most secure (in terms of burglars) and fire safety. A wonderful looking door too.By Sept 2024, a huge fire broke out, outside, in VERY close proximity to my home. I am absolutely amazed.. the door withstood the flames. The door kept the fire out and other than VERY minor melting around the frame, you would never know what this door had endured! Worried nearby residents were trying to kick in the door prior to the fire brigade arriving - they failed to do this. BUT the fire brigade have since told me if that door was successfully kicked through (OR if it was a cheap door that would have melted away/engulfed in flames), the flames outside would have for CERTAIN engulfed the inside of my home, the second the door opened (scientific explanation re travel of fire was explained to me about this). The reason the interior of my home is fine and my pets are unharmed, is because of this door.Attached below is a photo of my door, days AFTER the flames. Not a mark on it. Whilst any plastic (guttering etc) surrounding this door had melted and evaporated away, the door itself stood strong. The door was a safety barrier, keeping my dog and my cat safe, until fire brigade could put out the flames that were blocking the door. For context of the size of the flames that were facing the door, just metres away, I have attached an image.Forever grateful I chose the door I did. Dobsons recently replaced all the windows in our semi detached house. The windows are high quality and installation was undertaken with great care, efficiency and to an agreed timescale by the installers. The installers were friendly, careful with our property and took great pains to clear up when they had finished work each dayWe can highly recommend Dobsons.
All dealt with remotely from abroad (for replacement patio door). Steve was very efficient and helpful from start to finish, dealing with our house agents and checking on completed works and providing photos. We chose Dobsons because they fitted the house with all double glazing windows and doors back in the early 1980s when the house was still owned by my late mother, who was very pleased with the product and service. This continues to this day - we would have no hesitation in recommending Dobsons to any potential customer and will certainly use them yet again!

We had our new kitchen a year ago and are still delighted with it. It’s fantastic to look at and everything is situated to make it convenient to use. The beautiful picture behind the cooker hob is remarked on by everyone who sees it and it is a delight to look at. All the appliances work well. The workforce were all extremely polite and worked to schedule. Mess was kept to a minimum.

They recently did the front door, hallway and bedroom- putting in new floor, electrics, plastering and decorating. They also came and repaired an issue with my floor which predated the pandemic and that’s one of the best aspects - the guarantee. The work is covered and verifiable. Refurbished bathroom and cloakroom. From start to finish, I was happy I was getting top class service, although at a premium price, which I was content to pay, because I appreciate good service. Kevin Milne, a director, is an absolute star, going above and beyond every day...turning up at 9pm one night because of a slight problem that was worrying us. Andrew is a patient and painstaking designer who listens and designs good things. The technicians, Ross, John, Derek, and all the others......are orderly, clean up after them and listen to what you say. Well done Dobsons
This is the third time we have used Dobsons for works on our home. This time they created a garden room and a utility room to add to the kitchen they designed and built a few years earlier.Dobsons handled the whole project, from design to getting planning permission. They recommended a builder who did a first-class job and worked hand-in-glove with Dobsons to ensure the project ran seamlessly.We could not recommend them highly enough; from Matthew and Kevin with their attention to detail to their high-quality suppliers: plumbers (Neil), electricians (Andy), fitters (Danny), decorators, ( Derek) and tiler (Dave). Dobsons designed and fitted Kitchens in our home and holiday properties. The quality of the work was first class and the service excellent, nothing seems to be too much for Matt, Kevin and their team from design through fitting and after care I can only say the entire exercise was STUNNING I cannot thank them enough.
We had our oak front door and windows replaced. The news windows are such a close match to the wooden ones we had but will be far more efficient and lower maintenance. The fitters from Dobsons were excellent, we cannot praise them highly enough.You cannot see around the internal windows that they have been replaced as the decor is as good as before. At the end of each day the fitters cleaned up, and vacuumed.We are highly delighted with the whole experience.

We have recently had a new kitchen installed by Dobsons which included knocking a wall down to create a larger space. They managed the wholeprocess through the design, planning, building works and regulations and the installation of the kitchen and we have been extremely impressed.The quality and professionalism of everyone involved in the project - the builders, kitchen fitter, electricians, plumber, floor layers etc was second to none, with the work delivered efficiently, cleanly and in a very friendly and pleasant manner. I was recommended to contact Sally by my builder who had worked alongside Dobsons on a previous job. Sally and I instantly hit it off, she listened to my ideas and asked lots of questions about my requirements for my new kitchen. I told Sally that I was fussy, she told me she would cope..a friendship was formed. Sally then provided me with designs that I picked apart, kept the good bits and asked for more ideas- they kept coming. I visited the showroom, was made to feel welcome with coffee etc and was allowed to fiddle with all of the appliances. Sally provided me with more samples than I could carry and as many brochures as I wanted. Although Coronavirus slowed us up a bit, Dobsons reopened with a very safe environment for me to visit to finalise the plans.My kitchen was measured to perfection, Matthew was on hand to offer advise about electrics, pumps, taps and lighting. Everything was coming together and the professionalism of the company was impressive.I, at this point, was now quite nervous. My deposit had been paid and I was about to get the kitchen of my dreams....why was I having doubts? Sally appeared for a socially distanced coffee and said this was normal, not to worry and went through all the plans again. So I was then nervous and excited!In true Dobsons style, my fitter turned up at the exact time he should. A protective floor covering was laid and a military style organisation of two vans full of kitchen then followed. Lee, my kitchen fitter, was the ideal man. Nothing was too much trouble, he answered every question, he worked hard and he was one of the best carpenters I’ve ever seen.There were a couple of issues; a door that I wasn’t happy with (paintwork issues), an awkward fitting bin cupboard and a couple of niggly bits that irritated me. These things were sorted out immediately, in fact things I hadn’t noticed were sorted out by Lee as he was fitting the kitchen.Meanwhile, as I was so impressed by Dobsons I decided to order a front door from them. I was blessed to have Lee fit it! Is there no end to this mans talent?!So, my kitchen is complete and I am over the moon. I would definitely recommend Dobsons, yes, they are high end, but having had quotes from other places ( with Sally’s encouragement) my kitchen still came in on budget (my budget, not my husbands!). The team were professional from start to finish, were always on hand to talk to and nothing was a problem.A lovely gift arrived at Christmas from Dobsons which was a fabulous surprise. All in all, a job well done! Thank you.
We have a fantastic shower room thanks to the excellent work of the staff and associated tradespeople of Dobson’s. I would totally recommend them if you are looking for a new shower/bath room. There professionalism throughout was second to none.
